This week's pictures...

Zuri and I at church....

Jumping with her favorite friend!

Although she was very "crabby" after her shots the day before, she had a moment of happiness.

Playing on her new rug....

Shopping..

Now that I have a child all I do is spend money on her!  Most parents (or mom's at least), I'm sure understand this phenomenon.  Instead of buying things for yourself you are always looking for something for your baby!  Recently we purchased her new big girl carseat (although we are waiting for a bit longer to use it), carseats are expensive!

Today was another shopping day for Zuri.  The morning started off by buying some products online for her.  I bought her some new soap that is suppose to be better for her cloth diapers, rice cereal, oatmeal with bananas and a multi grain cereal.  This evening I decided to get her out of the house for a little shopping fun.  Now that she can sit she doesn't have very many toys to play with.  However, I have NO IDEA what toy she might like...so we browsed the aisles and after purchasing four outfits in the next size up (she wears 6 month onesie's and 9 month pants, these were 6-12 month size, seemed big but that's ok we don't have any clothes for her past where she is now).  We moved on to the toy asile, where she picked out a few things she might like.

We decided on a lion, she liked the tail and the hair on it...we only bought one, although she wanted both.  Then we bought some rings to stack, or to play in the tub .  Then we bought two types of blocks, one type that is soft and bigger with tags on them that make noise. The other are wooden blocks in a small flat wagon with a string to pull the wagon.  Who knows she may not like any of the toys bought today, but who could say no to this face...

She was begging me, "Mommy please buy me everything!".  Lord knows this is the beginning of my purchasing downfall.

Chicago..

Zuri's 7th and 8th flights!  She has now flown on more flights than she is month's old!  She did a good job on both flights.  She was such a good girl, for having her whole day/schedule disrupted and having to be at a gym for so much time, with the loud noises and everything.

Resting in the quiet area of the gym before one of our games.

Pedro and Zuri playing on the Ipad at the hotel.  The towel was one of her favorite things to play with.

Now that Zuri is more capable of self-entertaining, my life is WAY different!  I say that until she becomes mobile.  Probably not looking forward to that!  She can sit and play in one place and I know where she will be when I come back!  She also enjoys her baby einstein videos, those can really keep her entertained.  I am hoping to use a play pen, or "cage" as Pedro calls it, especially as she becomes more mobile.  With two dogs that think that playing around her is fun, I don't want her to get squished! When she is in her "cage" she can watch the dogs, which is one of her favorite things to do!

We are glad to be home and to not have any traveling in the near future.

6 Month Doctor's Appt.

So, I am not crazy.  Zuri is getting big (heavy).  Some mornings I swear when I pick her up I am thinking she put on weight overnight!

Zuri's 6 month stats:
16lbs 9oz 62nd percentile
26.75 inches long 84th percentile
16.5 inch head circumference 33rd percentile.

Compare that to her 4 month stats:
13lbs 37th percentile
25.5 inches long 91st percentile
14 inch head circumference 42nd percentile.

Being a good girl while waiting for the doctor.

Off to Chicago, wish us luck!

Portland...

Zuri officially had her 1/2 year birthday while in Portland.  She is becoming such a little "human" as I like to say, with her own personality.  While there she started to learn the annoying skill of dropping an item and crying until we pick it up for her.  Not a fun one.  She was enjoying playing with a spoon in her stroller while we were at the mall and she kept dropping it out of reach and then crying until we gave it back to her.

Zuri was definitely a trooper in Oregon.  She slept really well at night and took some naps during the day.  Probably because she was so exhausted from being at games, which are definitely overwhelming!  The only game she had a problem during was a double overtime game and that was because there was a lot of screaming when we hit shots to put us into two overtimes.  During the games either a parent watched her or a few of my older players.  She seemed to have a good time with my players as seen by one of the many pictures they took with her!

Her flight out was also a really good one.  She slept for a majority of the flight and was happy the rest.  However, her flight back was a different story.  She was tired.  Very tired.  And decided that going to sleep was too much to ask.  So, instead she cried.  On and off the whole flight.  I had to entertain her by having her look out the window or play with my ticket.  Then Pedro had to take her and stand right by our seat with her, just so she wouldn't cry the whole flight.  I can't blame her.  She was tired and had done such a great job the whole trip, it was bound to catch up with us!

Here is my big girl...again her eyes are not usually so huge, it's just the flash!

She was also enjoying holding on to her bottle and trying to put it in her mouth.  Which she can do, but she doesn't understand that she has to tip the bottle to get the milk!

Here is how you travel with a baby...
That is the trunk of our car.  Don't worry, we let her actually ride inside the car most of the time (haha).

Here is another picture from the 4th of July...

When we got home from Oregon, she slept from 930pm until 830am...and is now taking a morning nap after being awake for only 1hr!  Sadly, we leave again in two days for Chicago and although the trip is shorter by a day, we play a lot more games.

Happy 4th of July!

It seems like it happened overnight!  Zuri is now a GREAT sitter!  Still no sign of crawling, probably because she screams like a crazy girl when I put her on her stomach.

Demonstrating to her friends, Stella and Polar, what a great sitter she can be!

Something you should never do, leave your child SITTING UNATTENDED on the changing table!  (don't worry, I didn't actually leave her unattended!).

We leave for Oregon tomorrow and are gone for 5 days and 4 nights.  Then we are home for two days, one of which she has her 6 month checkup, then gone again 4 days and 3 nights to Chicago.  We will see how it goes.  My little girl has not been napping very well (has she ever really napped well?), so hoping she does better on the road and plane!

6 months
I would guess she weighs close to or a little over 16 lbs right now.

Likes:
Playing with her Lion in the pack and play (likes the other animals but the lion is her favorite)
SITTING!
Eating fruits (banana, pear and apple)
Still loving the dogs!
Sitting in the grass (playing with the grass)
Swimming pools (not at first, but after the cold water shock wears off).
Scout, the dog, that makes music and has lights
Giraffe where you put the ball in its mouth and it goes around a track and comes out on a side
BOOKS!  She loves when I read to her, she usually tries to talk over me the whole time!

Dislikes:
NAPS! (listening to her cry for 45 minutes right now for her morning nap).
Being hot
Sometimes she doesn't like her green beans (although my mom says it is because I leave them cold).
Rolling over and getting stuck on her stomach at night.
Did I mention Naps?  Pretty sure this one is her LEAST FAVORITE activity!

Wish us luck for our trips!
