1 Year Stats!

Zuri had her one year appointment last Wednesday.  She has grown quite a bit, although I am still not sure the measurements for height are correct, since Zuri SCREAMS and THRASHES for most of the measuring.

She has definitely caught on to the fact that the doctors office is not a place she wants to go.  Actually, she likes the doctors office.  Just not the doctors or nurses.  She pretty much cried as soon as she saw them.  Looking in her ears, mouth or even listening to her heart/lungs was a massive chore.  I assume it will only get worse.

Her measurements were:
Weight: 21lbs 14oz  78%
Length: 32.75 inches 99.97%
Head: 18.25 inches 85%

Her 9 month stats were:
Weight: 19lbs 9oz 71%
Length: 30.5 inches 99.77%
Head: 17.5 inches 65%

So that would mean that she gained 1lb 5oz (although I think she was just gaining back all that she lost being sick), grew 2.25 inches and her head grew .75 inches in 3 months.  I am not 100% sure on all of the measurements since she was just getting back to normal weight and she was throwing massive tantrums just to be measured.  But assuming they were at least close, she is growing quite well.

We had a massive issue with milk, as in I made the mistake of trying to give her straight milk.  Which she immediately refused and then refused her sippy cup too.  We are gradually starting to drink from the sippy again (thank goodness!) and we drink 5oz of milk mixed with 3oz of formula, which I am fine with for now.

Zurianna now has 5 official words:  Dada, Dog, Star (Duck and Stop).  Duck and Stop are written that way because she has just started saying STOP when the dogs are barking and duck she says, but it kind of sounds like dog.   When Zuri hears a dog barking outside she will look around and say dog? dog?

Her new favorite thing to do is walk around with her walker non stop.  She will get frustrated and scream when it gets stuck or she can't move it around something.  She usually walks around with something in her hand (her baby from the dollhouse or a magnet) and one hand on the walker.  She can maneuver it and turn it, but when she gets frustrated she just SCREAMS about it.

Zuri cracks me up now because she has learned to shake her head no.  She does it all the time.  I say "Can I have a kiss?" and she will shake her head no.  Then I tell her yes and shake my head yes and she laughs and laughs.  She also likes to feed the dogs when she is full.  We tell her no and she looks right at us and shakes her head no and smiles and gives the dogs food.  They really love it.

Pedro is having surgery on Monday and hopefully that is as easy as they make it sound.  Then it will be time waiting for some scar tissue to form before he can go back to work.

Here are a few pictures.  I haven't taken as many because Pedro has been home and usually I am taking them for him!

Zuri likes to sleep on her stomach in a ball with her blanket!

Driving home from our daily gym visit!

Doesn't she look like an old woman?

LOVING the nice weather today!  Zuri and Daddy out for a walk (note Pedro grabbing his butt, that is where he has pain)

FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Dangerous leaning forward because she is going so fast.
