Thanksgiving....

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holiday's because most people are expected to spend most of the day eating. Which of course is one of my favorite things to do. This year I made sweet potato souffle, which Dena found the recipe. It was amazing and had maple syrup in the sweet potatoes and topped with brown sugar and pecans. Sad, I know, that food is so exciting to me!

This whole week I have been working from 645am to about 5 or 6pm. Then I head off to run club or practice. Oddly enough, my energy levels are great, until I stop for the day and then I am out like a light. My days are spent helping people understand what to eat and help hold them accountable. Funny part is that my days are actually spent eating, for the most part. I pack my lunch every night before work. Some days I am gone from 630am until 930pm, so I bring enough food to feed a small army, or someone like me ;) I spend my hour lunch breaks out on a run and my free time before or after practice working out. I still get in training some people and doing bball stuff.

Pedro has been waking up early to go to the gym..and then working. His work hasn't been that busy. But we both really do like the gym.

We have gone to the Nuggets (I think 2weeks ago) and out with his friends from work and from the police academy. On top of all the work we have been doing and, of course, working out.

For those of you that do not live in Colorado, today was our first snow of the season. Exciting?? Not too much since I am suppose to do run club at 8am tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it.

Hope you enjoy our picture!

Hello again...

Today is Weds. This was my day off. What do I do on my day off from work...hmmm. Well, I got up early (745) and had a lesson for bball. Today I played for the first time in months, since I wasn't playing during Ironman training. Jac and I won 13-5 and beat M and B. Quite entertaining. After bball I headed to the park to train my two ladies. We are trying to take advantage of the nice weather while it lasts. I'm sure they did not enjoy the hill walking and walking with weights!

I came home and had to send out loads of emails for the run club newsletter and answer all kinds of questions about the run club.

I ate, watched Desperate and then took an hour nap :)

I got up and went for a 7.75mile run with a few friends. I came home and started chicken tortilla soup for dinner and headed off to run club. Run club was a short 2.5 mile run, in the much colder temperature (I hate how the temperature can drop from 65 to 48 in an hour).

Came home..ate some dinner and watched a csi..and packed my meals for tomorrow. I say meals because I have to go to work from 9-715 then I have practice at 730-900. Currently, my plan is to get up and go do cardio, swim and then shower at the gym and go to work...so could be a really long day!

Pedro worked today and of course got his workout in.

As of today (since Sunday) I have gotten in 32 miles of running this week. However, the mileage will probably dwindle since I work 9-715 Thurs and Friday.

All in a days work....

For those of you that need some entertainment, I will try to update my blog more. Not that the blog is any source of entertainment, but none the less.

Today is Monday, which for me meant a lot of things to do. I got up early around 650am and left to go train the two women that I train. One of the ladies lost 3 pounds this last week (12 pounds or so overall in about a month)!!! She says she has gotten into clothes she never thought she could get into. Anyway, I headed over to her house and ate breakfast there while I was training them. Then off to work.

Work today consisted of taking a test to make sure I know what I am doing while working with people in weight loss. Making sure I know what foods the people can eat on the various plans...lots of boring stuff. The test took almost 3 hrs and was all essay and short answer. I missed one question (no I am not a geek thank you). Funny part was that three of the girls taking the test were all talking and cheating during it...then they missed 20 plus questions. I have always said that you shouldn't cheat off someone else, because they may have less sense than you do.

Anyway, I was the first one done with the test so I ended up with an 1.5 hr lunch break. I figured I should take advantage of this, so I went for an hour run then came back and had my lunch.

We got out of work early at 400, so I headed home to get the children (stella and polar) to bring with me to the gym. Pedro had left later this morning because he didn't work until 10, but the dogs had been locked up since then, so I figured they needed some lovin'.

Off to the gym I went to meet my friend Debbie to go for a short run before run club started. We got back from our easy run then started run club which consisted of a light post run today, or "fartlek" run. I took the group out and we ran light post to light post, one easy then one fast. Then ended with a cool down.

After run club I went and took yoga/pilates fusion. It was an ok class today, the other day the teacher was really good and my abs are still sore!

Pedro headed home after work and then working out...he finished his workout when I was starting my yoga class. He went home and started cooking our chicken for dinner. We had salad, chicken, rice (just me), and some butternut squash. I followed this with some hot chocolate..mmmm..all while we watched CSI NY for the week.

Long day and now I am getting ready to go to sleep :)

Busy...

Been quite busy the last week.

This week I started working a job. I worked from 9-5 everyday. I also trained someone 3 days this week, did lessons and had practice. Besides this we had VIP night at the gym and I had to go there and work the Run Club table, since I am the run club coordinator.

I also got in about 35miles of running this week, a spin class and a pilates/yoga class. I took advantage of my time before work a few days (when I didn't have to train before work) to do the stairmaster at the gym or go for a run. I also ran during my hr lunch break, if I knew I had practice, lessons etc. that night.

Today was our first run club day and we had about 15 people come to the run. It was only about 25 degrees but it wasn't really that bad. I got in a lot of extra running going from the front of the run to the back...then re-catching the front again.

Pedro has been busy working as well. The cafe is very busy and he is crazy busy..but it is better than it being slow.

We both workout at the new gym now and it isn't super busy so that is a plus. They also have a huge amount of cardio and weight stuff spread out so it shouldn't get too crazy. I think I will start masters swimming this week, but I will have to do the 545am time because the evenings I have run club on the days of swimming.

Anyway, lots of busy stuff...nothing of great interest. Looking forward to Sunday. Pedro works some, but I do not have anything so I am going to run and take a class at the gym...then watch football :)

Favorite...

This is my favorite season. Especially when temperatures are in the 70 degrees. With the cooler nights it is great sleeping weather...followed by warm not HOT days. I know this time may not last long..or we could be lucky and it last all winter (not 70's of course). The only downside is that it is dark at 6pm so then I feel like going for a nap, which then distrupts my sleeping at night.

Anyway, the other benefit of this time of the year is that fruit is on sale. Yes, sad I know. Raspberries were so cheap I bought a whole case yesterday. Pomegrantes are also back out. These are definitely my two favorite fruits. I bought some vanilla yogurt and some amazing fat free vanilla frozen yogurt (which I tasted at someones house) and it is amazing. I can't even describe the taste but when you add some pomegrantes and raspberries to these...voila an amazing snack!!

Nothing else real exciting is going on. Broncos are not playing well so Sunday football is less exciting for me. Pedro just started a job at lifetime fitness in the cafe. Again the benefit of the membership is great...but he is also getting paid, unlike me. The funny thing is that he just found out he has to wear a "chef" coat and a black "hair" (though he has none) dew rag looking thing. Should be quite entertaining of a look. If we had a digital camera I would post a picture, but sadly we do not. However, if anyone has one they don't use or they got a new one..we would be welcome to borrow your other camera...we might even post some more pictures!

The only real exciting news is that I have registered for Ironman Florida, which is in Panama City Beach Florida. The race is November 7th, 2009, if anyone is interested in going :)

My training has consisted of running still. I am up to about 55 miles a week and I guess my legs get kind of tired by the end of the week but not horribly.

For Halloween we went to a friends house for some chili and Pedro had to take one of the kids to a few houses to trick-or-treat. Then we went to K and K's house and played phase 10 card game...which Pedro won.

Alright I think that completes the current news of the house.
