23 Weeks #2

I'm 23 weeks, almost 24 weeks pregnant.  It's really scary that I'm way past the half way point in the pregnancy.  I keep thinking in 16 weeks or less our new little girl will be here.  Being pregnant a second time makes you excited, scared and tired all at once.  I know that having a newborn is exhausting.  I am definitely not looking forward to those days.  I also know that the newborn stage does really go by quickly and we can make it through!  I'm hoping my little one has pretty good sleeping habits like her sister because I am really enjoying my nights right now!

I still feel "normal" except the large belly.  I find myself forgetting how big it is already!

Here I was at the beginning of 23 weeks with Baby #2

Here I was at 22 weeks when I was pregnant with Zuri

I think I am about the same size now as I was then.  Weight gain is still almost exactly the same both pregnancies, which is so weird.  Looks like I might be carrying a bit lower this pregnancy.  This pregnancy is so different in how my days work than it was before Zuri.  My first pregnancy I went to bed around 12 or 1am, got up whenever I felt like it, maybe 10:30ish.  Worked out some, napped some and did basketball.  Now I am in bed much earlier, 9:45 or so, asleep by 10:45.  I get up at 7:45 with Zuri, we make breakfast, we play a little, we go to the gym, come home, eat, hopefully she naps, which is when I nap or get other things done.  She gets up, we run errands, play or do other things, then do her bedtime routine.  In other words, life is a bit more busy.  I am getting a little worried how adding a second persons schedule to our lives will change us!  I know with a second child I will have to be more flexible with their schedule, because with a toddler that loves to "go, go, go", we have to find some balance.  Zuri is definitely attached to me all the time and doesn't really want anyone else to do anything for her, so hopefully she learns to accept Pedro as help sometimes, or the baby is fine with Pedro.  I am imagining lugging around a 30lb toddler and a newborn all at the same time.  But I'm sure I will figure it out, that's what mom's do right?!

This baby is very active compared to Zuri.  She likes to kick all the time.  Pretty much any time I sit down or lay down, I get a good amount of kicking.  It's pretty fun.  You can tell she has gotten bigger because she kicks my ribs now, which is such a weird feeling.

Baby info:
Day's pregnant: 167
Day's till due date: 113!
Baby Size:  11.5 inches (Large mango) and 1.1 lbs
Baby is now more proportioned from head size to the rest of the body
Workouts: Still going great!

2 YEARS OLD!

Zuri is 2 years old.  No longer would I tell someone how many months old she is, although near the end of the first year I was having to remember how many months old she was.

This year she got 2 Birthday parties.  One small party on her actual birthday, with her cousins Grey and Ashby and Nana and Papa at Chuck e Cheese.  Her other party was a bigger party with family and Pedro's mom at Nana's house.

Zuri had so much fun at Chuck E Cheese.  As soon as we walked in she took off running and never looked back.  She loved the horse ride the most!  We had such a good time.  She was really so entertained by the rides and everything that we had to wrangle her just to get her to open presents.

Skee ball, but it was a little too hard...

So, it's easier to walk up and put the ball under the glass!

This ride had "wind" blowing as you drove!

Drinking her beloved soda, that she gets rarely.

Driving a police car like daddy!

The best ride!

Picking his booger.  She was nearing the end of a cold and I had just wiped her boogers!

So excited!

Excited!  For the cake? The candles? I have no idea!

She blows "up" not forward-so she needed a little help!

Pure excitement!

!!!!!

Happy!!

Of course the night was long and she was over tired, so she pretty much started her 2nd year off about the way people say 2 year old kids act, with a massive tantrum.  That was so much fun to deal with!!

Her birthday party at Nana's was great.  She had a Minnie themed birthday party and loved all the balloons, Minnie's and all the people.  She definitely loves being around kids and playing.

Grey and all the kids were very helpful

Looking at her birthday brownies...

So excited for kitchen supplies!

No cake this year, just brownies because they are her absolute favorite!

Grandma Topper (she said "Grandma" when she was looking for her)

Chyler helping Zuri with her balloon

Chyler and Zuri being fed pixie stix like baby birds!

She got some great things from people that she loves and has had such a fun start to her second year.  She especially loves a kitchen stool that Nana got her so she can stand at the counter and help me in the kitchen.  She likes her own kitchen and oddly loves a "popper".

Zuri's language skills have gotten better, but she still doesn't talk a lot.  She calls Minnie Mouse "B", which I have no idea where that has come from.  I can decipher some of her words, but none of them are super clear except things like Stella, Ball, No or "Here you go".  She talks a lot and she loves to read to me.  At night she wants me to sit in front of her and she has her balls, minnie and horse and she reads me her books.  If I ask her to point things out in the book she can point out almost everything I see on the page.  Animals, foods, things like grocery carts, cash register, ghosts, fish, flowers....etc.  But she doesn't say any of them.

Her favorite things right now are still a ball (any kind) she has a favorite one (a small basketball) but any will do.  She loves going to gym day care, where as soon as we walk in someone asks if she wants a ball and they take her to go get one.

Recently we have started to try to work on going on the potty (not successful), but she likes to say "Pee" and "Poo" on "Potty".  Yet, she doesn't want to go on the potty.  But she will tell me she has "pee" or "poo", although most of the "poo" is actually pee.

One hilarious thing was that one morning I came in and she said "B Poo".  I told her it was ok.  She kept saying it.  Then I looked in the crib and Minnie had split open on her bottom and Zuri had taken the stuffing out and she was calling it "poo!"  Now I take Minnie to the potty and use a syringe to show her that "B" has peed in the potty.  So, now in the morning and random times she tells me that "B potty" and so I take her and have "B" go potty.  Hoping this helps get us potty trained sooner rather than later!

She has been difficult to lay down for bed at times, both at nap and bed time.  She tells me that she wants something, but I can't understand her.  I usually let her out and let her go find it, which works sometimes.  But other times she tells me "book" over and over and she really is just trying to delay her bedtime because I have offered her every book we have in the room!  Her screaming usually only lasts a few minutes and then she quiets down.

I am really hoping her communication skills pick up soon.  We have a lot of problems because she is definitely opinionated and knows what she wants, but I have no idea what she is talking about!

Zuri stats:
Height: 36 inches(again never sure on height, this one was standing and she was in hysterics at the dr) 80%
Weight: 29lbs 9oz -82%
Head : 19.02 inches 72%
Clothing Size: Pretty much 3t is what I buy

21 Weeks #2

Ok, so I'm a bit behind.  I am approaching 23 weeks now.  But I have a picture from the end of 21 weeks! And I will do a week 22 post soon!

Am I getting bigger?  Pretty sure that is a yes.  However, I need to take an actual belly photo to see if I am a lot bigger than I was with Zuri.  Again, I feel like I am normal until I put on a shirt and realize it is too short!

Week 21 went well.  I have had some heart burn and so that isn't a lot of fun.  But nothing to really complain about either.  I have noticed at night that if I stretch my legs/feet out I will start to get a leg cramp but I catch it before it actually cramps.  I remember having this the first pregnancy too.

I have been dealing with a small cold for nearly two weeks that doesn't seem to want to go away.  I have also been kind of tired lately.

Pedro keeps thinking that we are so far away from having the baby that any time I talk about trying to figure out what we will do if we are in our current house (hoping to move sooner rather than later), he tells me that I am planning too far ahead.  I really don't feel like we are planning far enough ahead.  I know the baby will be in our room for some amount of time, but she will also have things we need for her too.   I start doing quite a bit of work for bball from March to August (really until November) and so it's not like I have a lot of time to get everything figured out when that happens.  Hopefully we get things figured out!

Today's post will be off on the dates for 21 weeks, but it is where we are today.
Days pregnant:158
Days till due date: 122
Baby size: 11 inches about 1 lb (spaghetti squash)
Baby development:  Taste buds are forming and the sensation of touch developing

19 and 20 Weeks #2

Well I totally forgot to take a picture at 19 weeks.  We have plenty of pictures from the holiday's but none of my belly.  So here I am at 20 weeks (almost 21 weeks)!

It is so funny because each week I think that I am huge, then I see the next weeks picture and I am even bigger!  I also look short in this picture, so I am hoping this angle is making me look bigger?!?

Pregnancy so far has been going well.  Again, I really don't notice that I am pregnant other than the large belly.  You would think it would be hard to not notice that you are pregnant, but really it is true.  I do find that some days the cardio is a little bit more difficult at the higher levels, but then again that could just be some normal fatigue.

The exciting thing that happened was right before 19 weeks, I could feel the baby kicking with my hand.  This baby has been a lot more active than Zuri was and spends a lot more time of the day kicking and moving.  Which is fun.

I really haven't had any heartburn or anything so far in this pregnancy (besides one day).  I had another massage and this one I had to lay on my side, which was sad because side massages are not as good.

I have spent a lot of this week dealing with Zuri because she has croup.  So that has been lots of fun.

Pregnancy info:
Days pregnant: 144
Days till due date 136
MORE THAN HALF WAY THERE!
Baby info: This week baby has a waxy covering.
Baby size: 6.5 inches crown to rump and 10.6oz -small cantaloupe (but I believe this baby is measuring ahead so probably a bit bigger since she was 12oz at her 19 week appt)
