Christmas 2013!

This year Zuri has a bit more of an idea about what is going on, but not really.  We brought her to see Santa and that was a cry fest, but I wasn't surprised one bit.  So instead we have a picture of her and I with Santa (messed this one up, should have had Pedro in the picture too) and then we have a family picture of us right before seeing Santa.

This Christmas Eve was pretty fun for Zuri because she loves having her cousins to play with and then her other favorite thing, dessert!  This girl loves her dessert.  If you don't keep an eye on her she will have more dessert than anyone should eat at one time.  We also found out that we were having another girl, which means Zuri found out that she is having a little sister (although she has no idea)!

For the gift exchange Zuri got a shopping cart.  And she seems to love it.  She got a few other presents like a Bubble Guppies play thing, which of course she loves.  A cat that meows, which she also loves and now says "kitty!"  Some books, a cookie monster (which she isn't sure about), captain hook plush  but she is marginal about this, although she loves Hook on tv and calls Jake and the Neverland "Hook".   A stroller which she loves pushing "B" around in ("B"  or maybe it is "Me" is what she currently calls Minnie Mouse).

Zuri's present, love that Dena made an ornament with her picture on it!

Love Zuri's boots (Thanks to Zuriel and Evelyn!)

Playing with Grey's Jake and the Neverland sword...she is saying "Hook"

After all the Christmas Eve festivities, she was so exhausted.  This picture demonstrates how out of it she was!

So I gave her a bath before we left to go home and she was super happy!

For Christmas Zuri got a big kitchen from Pedro's mom.  We were up until 1:00am putting this thing together so she could see it Christmas morning.

Coming down the stairs Christmas morning...

She was a bit confused!?!

Then she got it!  She started filling up a "bowl" with "water"....

She has so much fun playing with the kitchen and the the fake foods.

I got her Bubble Guppies pajamas and those have been our main bedtime wear this week.

Here are a lot of photos of present opening and other fun!

This is one of my favorite photos....

She also got a wagon from Pedro's dad, which is a super fun gift for her.  She is really going to love it when we go to the zoo.  Plus there is extra room for her sister to sit too!

IT'S A....(#2)

We had our ultrasound last Monday when I was just a little over 19 weeks along.  The baby was measuring about a week ahead and had really long arms and legs (95%).  Of course the baby also had really long toes.  The nurse said that usually you can't count all of the toes, but our baby had long toes and she could easily count them.  HA!

The baby was estimated to weigh about 12oz which was in about the 50% range and the head measurements fell in about the same percentile.  This sounds pretty much like Zuri.  Zuri was super long and skinny when she was born.  However, she was actually in the single digit percentile for weight when she was born, I think.  The heart rate was 161.

The nurse did a good job of not letting us look to see what we were having.  Then after she figured out the sex she wrote it in a card and I gave it to Dena to get us a gift to open on Christmas Eve.

Dena did a great job!  Way better than I could have expected.  Here are some pictures of what happened.

Me voting that I think we are having a girl...

Pedro hoping for a boy...

Opening the gift..

What is it???

It's a GIRL!

Crazy Zuri...

Zuri is really funny.  She has days where she is in a super good mood and has so much fun.  Day's where I can't pick her up because she starts laughing thinking that I am going to tickle her.  Although, I'm really trying to get her across the street quickly or something of that nature.  One of her new favorite things to do is roll her tongue.  Sometimes you will see her standing there rolling her tongue for no reason, other than thats what she wants to do.  Sometimes she will do it if I do mine and then she will do hers, but usually she just laughs at me and puts her hands in my face because when she won't let me give her a big kiss she pushes my face away with her hands and so I stick my tongue out between her fingers, which makes her laugh hysterically.

Her favorite stuffed animal is her horse that we bought her.  She obviously loves dogs, but she wants her horse for bedtime and car rides right now.  Along with two balls, of course!

We took her to go pick up one of her gifts for Christmas at the Children's Museum but we didn't go inside, instead it was such a nice day out we played at the outdoor park.

Screams of happiness!

That evening we went to the grocery store and she got in her favorite "car" cart and we started driving off and she saw a grocery cart her size!  She leaped out and ran over and got it and followed us around the store.

Here she is taking her OWN detour to the COOKIES.  Yes, she definitely knows where they keep the cookies and she MUST have one.  She is saying her version of "cookie" here...

But when it came time to leave the store she had a major meltdown because we were not going to bring the cart.  I tried to talk to her and tell her that maybe Santa would be bringing her one, but she wanted nothing to do with me.  So I had to drag a kicking and screaming child out of the store.

Zuri also won't look at the camera if you ask her.  She better figure it out soon because we just bought a "good" camera to use!

By showing her something she wanted, I got a quick look...

She has been super up and down though.  I think her sleep is a lot better now that she has her tonsils out and she seems to be in a good mood most of the time.  However, to demonstrate her craziness, I took a shower one day while she was awake and I locked the door because otherwise she opens the shower curtain and water goes everywhere.  She stood outside the door crying and screaming until I got out.  Then a few days later she was downstairs playing and I was upstairs cleaning the bathroom and I turned on the water in the shower to rinse the shower and she RAN up the stairs screaming and crying the whole way until she realized I wasn't in the shower.

Last night I went to give her a bath and Pedro was upstairs and turned on her bath water.  She saw him in the bathroom and thought he was going to give her the bath and not me.  So she ran screaming and crying because she wanted me to give her the bath.  It's nice to be loved, but at the same time we have another child coming, so a combination of things need to happen.  She needs to learn to deal with me not holding, bathing, spending every second with her and let her dad do some stuff.  And dad needs to do more stuff with the next baby so maybe they won't go so crazy when I am not the one doing it all!

We have quite a busy few days coming up, we have Christmas lights tonight, Collins birthday party tomorrow, our ultrasound on Monday, Christmas Eve on Tuesday and Christmas day on Wednesday!  Should be some fun (hopefully happy and smooth) times!

18 Weeks Baby #2

I am WAY bigger this pregnancy than last.  However, I have had the same weight gain (and started at the same weight) and so I weigh basically exactly the same as I did at 18 weeks with Zuri.  However, I don't look even anything remotely the same.  How is that possible?

I still feel really normal and frequently forget that I am pregnant, until I remember that I have a huge belly.  My workouts have been going well and everything has felt great.  No headaches this week, so that was great news.  I also got a massage last week, probably my last one while laying on my stomach, which is sad.

18 weeks info:
Days pregnant: 130
Days till due date: 150
Baby size: 5.6 inches and 6.7oz (sweet potato)
Baby info: Bones are hardening, baby can probably hear sounds now
Kicks: Maybe a few, but not hard enough to feel with my hand
Days till next doctor appt: 3!  Which includes our ultrasound!

23 Months Old!

Zuri will be turning 2 in 27 days!  These months and days seem to go so quickly, yet it seems like she has been part of our lives forever.  Of course we have tried to forget the long first months of crying/colic and remember the fun stuff.

Zuri is a lot of fun.  I think she has been a lot more rested and happier since she had her tonsils out.  I am sure she had sleep apnea which made her not sleep as well.  We wish she would start talking more.  I know she knows the words because she can point to, answer or go get what I say, but she still doesn't say much.  When she has something she wants me to take she says "Here you go."  It's clear to me, but Pedro is just starting to understand it.  She can say "Thank you" but doesn't say it all the time.  She has also added the word cracker as in "cracka".

She is very opinionated and knows what she wants.  At nap and bed time her favorite things are her little basketball and soccer ball along with her horse we bought her (black horse from the movie Brave).   She will ask for things that she wants for bed or tell me she doesn't want something.  Her naps are still here and there, some days no nap, but talks for hours, other days she sleeps for 3 hours.  I can't really figure out the differences.

Food wise she is randomly picky.  She will eat more when we go out to eat because it is leisure with all of us just sitting there.  Fruit is a favorite that she doesn't usually turn down.  The rest depends on the day.

Her favorite thing to do is play with my phone.  She loves the apps on it and can find and work all the things on it that are for her.  She plays with the ipad when I get her off my phone.  She likes puzzles on the ipad and can actually do a few of them.  She also really loves the videos on the ipad.  In the car and all the other times she plays with the leap pad, it has all of her favorite videos on it and she gets excited to watch them.  She probably watches or uses technology too much.  Her favorite TV/Videos are: Bubble Guppies, Dora, Little Einsteins, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Clifford. She doesn't watch Spongebob much but when she see's it she thinks it is funny.

We went to the mall to walk for a bit and she loved all the lights and Christmas things.  We still need to go see Santa!

We had a fun day the other day and took her to the Children's Museum and then the Aquarium for lunch.  She had so much fun at both places.

Here are some pictures from the day!

Dad playing with her..

Driving the fire truck!

Of course she won't look at the camera...

Loving the "Newton" area with balls...

Trying the food out...

Pointing at the fish..

She basically followed the fish up and down the glass our entire meal.  She didn't even have a bite to eat!

Then back at home that evening she was having lots of fun.  She was loving her sunglasses and racing around the house.

We also put up our tree last week.  Zuri helped me and decided she liked to get wrapped up, she also decided that the ornaments were good for shooting on her hoop.

Here she is helping me with the tree.  The fence doesn't seem to help much at her age!

And here is my Bronco's girl!  Riding her bronco!
