The end of the year...

The end of 2010 is quickly approaching. Where has it gone? I haven't posted a blog since July. Probably because there are so many pictures and things to post that I never wanted to sit down and write it.

The wedding was very nice, but our honeymoon was amazing. Tahiti was awesome! Probably the best part was being upgraded to the Presidential Suite, which was bigger than our house. Thanks to everyone that contributed to our wonderful wedding and honeymoon.

Since the wedding and honeymoon, there hasn't been anything of great interest. We have gone to the mountains to see the leaves change, rode the motorcycle during the leaves changing (yes, we took two trips because it stayed nice out for so long!). We went to the Nuggets game and had passes to go and meet some of the players. Pedro really had a fun time meeting a few of the players and getting some autographs. Last week we went to see the Denver Zoo Lights, which was quite fun too.

The bad news was that Pedro totaled his car :( However, after going back and forth with two dealerships I got us a GREAT deal on his new car a Hyundai Tucson. Then my car last week had a bracket break and we had to have it towed to a shop and it is currently getting fixed. Nobody knows how the bracket broke.

Today is Christmas and Pedro is at work. He had to work last night for Christmas Eve too and will work tomorrow night as well. However, he has New Years off. He bought me an amazing present, even though I told him I didn't need a present after all the car "drama". And no, I wasn't just saying that I didn't need a present while secretly wanting one. Ok, well everyone secretly wants presents, but I really didn't expect one at all!

Kory and Karen also had their baby, Ashby:

Here is Grey's present from Santa, Pedro was a bit jealous!

Bridal Shower!

It was a long day for me...not in a bad way, just long for someone like me that loves to sleep. I had to get up early for run club and an 8 mile run. Then I headed to Dena's for my bridal shower! We are now 3 weeks out from the wedding. Thank you to Linzy and Dena for putting on a great shower with some family and friends for a nice breakfast and cake. Thank you to all that came to the party and for the great gifts!

I know some people may think, "geez you have a house and you have dated forever, what could you need??" We need A LOT! Most of the stuff we use is either hand me downs from my mom, or stuff from college, which was probably a hand me down then. Yes, it works, but we would LOVE to have some new quality stuff to call our own! We got great stuff today (I'm obviously more excited for most of it than Pedro). I told Pedro that he should be really happy for the kitchen cooking stuff and mixer because that means more baked goods and other exciting meals with the new stuff. Now I just need ALL of my grandma's recipes (we now have a plan to get those, hopefully). We also got some fun things off of our Honeymoon registry, which is VERY exciting :)

After the shower I went home for a bit, then back to Kurt and Dena's for a get together with Dena's extended family.

Here are some pictures from the bridal shower, Thanks again, to all that came and for those putting it on :)

4 weeks...

Ok, so now I am just counting down to the wedding because it seems to be coming sooo fast!! Of course all types of small things seem to pop up that need to be done. Mainly some decisions and a few purchases to be made. Nothing like waiting until the last minute when you find something you like online and now wondering if it will make it in time!!

I got home this last week from my long summer trip. Oregon and Chicago went ok. Oregon went better because we won our first three games and then lost to one of the top teams in the country, but were not blown out! Chicago, I had two teams and my younger kids actually did a lot better than I expected them to do, since most of our team is 12u and we were playing 14u. But the high school kids, were in a pool with a team that had three kids that had signed top 10 d1 schools and some other teams that were quite outstanding. Including a team that had Ken Griffey Jr.'s daughter and two ex NBA players coaching a team.

This weekend I didn't work, since it was our last weekend of relaxing time before our wedding. Meaning that next weekend Pedro works, the following weekend I coach all weekend, then Pedro works...then the wedding! Of course we will have plenty of relaxing time in Tahiti!

Saturday Pedro joined me to do run club where we ran about 6.5 miles at 830am, which was already 91 degrees (joyous). He actually did really well and was the third runner to come in from the run (me, some fast guy, then pedro). I was running fast to get back to the car for WATER!!! Then we ran some errands, including buying a doggie door. Stella was quick to learn, but Polar is not too happy to use it...no surprise there. Then today Pedro decided he wanted to go on a bike ride with me. We went for a short ride of about 17 miles. Pedro had told me not to wait for him and just to ride and since it was an out and back it gave me a few opportunities to see where he was. At one point I decided it best to take a few hill detours off to the side and then catch back up. However, on the way back I took three big hill detours and I still didn't see him. I kept thinking he must have gone a different way back home, or he wasn't that far behind me and now he is too far in front of me to catch. When I got to a straight away where I should have been able to see him, in front of behind me, I couldn't see him. Weird. So, I leisurely rode home thinking he must have gone the other way home. When I arrived home he was nowhere to be found. So, I rode back to the corner and waited...and waited...and waited some more. Now, I was getting worried. On a short ride like that and with the extra 3 or 4 miles I rode, there was no way I should be 20 minutes ahead of him. I went home...changed clothes. Stood outside for a few more minutes than decided I needed to go look for him. So, I got in the car to find him and then he was riding down the hill. He had a few expletives about how he hates biking, which totally cracks me up. He also refuses to wear biking clothes now, I guess he doesn't think he looks good enough in them, but whatever.

I haven't posted pictures in awhile so here are a few!

Yes, seriously this is what he was wearing biking..

Chasing him down...kind of.

At Marc and Kelly's reception:

Outside the Chart House in CA while on my spa trip.

This was also on my spa trip in CA, this would be the best place to run ever! So, many people running here and you could run for up to 24 miles

Greeley Stampede, don't think we are going back there again, not too exciting.

5 weeks to go!

So our wedding is now 5 weeks away. So what am I doing?? Spending 10 days on the road coaching. I am in Oregon right now and we will be playing our first game tomorrow. The good thing about Oregon is that we only have one team here, which means one or two games each day. But it also means 3 meals eaten out. No, IM not worried about my weight or something crazy like that, but as much as you think you like to eat out, ten days with three meals a day...so 30 meals eaten out is a lot. I really get tired of it.

With wedding agenda Im almost done. I need to order a few more presents for ushers and flower girls, order some flower petals, finalize ceremony readings, and pick up my dress from alterations. I have just been lazy and haven't felt like doing a few of these things but I really need to because when you order things it does take a few weeks for them to get here!!

This weekend we took a break from all the working and random stuff and did a few things. Friday we had dinner with chris, since we don't see him too much. On Saturday after working out we went to the Greeley stampede, which was very boring. I think the stick rodeo was the best part. Then to Kurts house for fireworks, and a near field fire! And Sunday we had 4th of July celebration at my parents house. Which went well with 30 people and rain. So we all had to be inside. Pedro, kory and I were the only ones that went down to watch fireworks because of the rain.

Anyway, that's about it...hoping my trip goes well and our team plays well!

UGH!

I have been crazy busy. This last weekend I coached about 25 games I had very little time off. However, I thought this was a great use of my time, I had 4 games and then a short break. During the break, I ate lunch, swam a mile, showered, ran 6 miles and showered again. All in about a 3 hour time period. Then headed back to coach 5 more games.

We have appointments nearly every day that Pedro has off, whether it be for finding tuxes, dance lessons or heading up to Estes to finalize more wedding things. I am still hoping everything is done by July 1st, but the weeks are FLYING by! Because during our off time, I am still finding time to do my training for my half ironman the weekend before the wedding.

I also have practice during the morning now and then that is followed by a lesson everyday with one of my players, and other lessons.

Tomorrow I leave for Wichita, KS for another bball tourney. Really not excited at all, but at least I am flying there instead of making the 8 hour drive each way! Kansas is usually a REALLY LONG TIRING weekend, but we have more conflicts for my three teams for pool play so that means less coaching for me...which is good time wise, bad because everyone wants me to be their coach (except the kids that want pedro to coach them, but he can't go because of work).

Anyway, I have just been really busy between working out, basketball and wedding stuff...

May..

Starting to be really busy with basketball stuff. I have tournaments nearly every weekend and with three teams and now being the only coach, I have games ALL day on Saturday and Sunday. Pedro has been helping me when he has the weekend off.

I am working on planning tourneys, figuring out flights etc. for summer tourneys, answering questions, collecting money to pay for the tourney's that I had to pay for up front. So, right now wedding planning has consisted of a "to do list" which hasn't been looked at for awhile, but I need to get on some of the things because I will be out of town a lot soon!

This upcoming weekend I leave for the Chopra spa for a whole WEEK! It is hard to be away for that long when there is so much to do all the time, with all the players and tourneys. Hopefully, it isn't dramatic like last time I was away for only 4 days!

They say it might snow up to about 18 inches this week, so let's hope that doesn't happen...weather has been so strange here lately.

Here is a picture from Mother's Day brunch...we managed to make it to brunch, even though I had games all day the day before and games the rest of the day on Sunday.

Garth Brooks!!

Saturday we had an amazing opportunity. The Pecks had tickets for a fundraiser for Denver Health and part of the fundraiser was a private concert with Garth Brooks. For those of you that do not know, I LOVE Garth Brooks and I was quite sad when they told me the week before that their family would be going :( I was sad because I WANTED TO GO!! On Thursday I got a call from them saying, "do you know what we are doing on Saturday". I told them that it was rude to rub it in since I would LOVE to go. Then they said, we knew you would so we got TWO tickets for you and Pedro!!!!! I was sooo excited. He is my dream concert!

So on Saturday, we had games in the morning with a wake up call for me at 640am (which is about 4 hours earlier than my usual) I had a long day ahead. Pedro and I went to games in the morning, breakfast after, a movie, another game and then home to change for our concert!

The concert was at the same place they do the stock show. On the floor of the stock show they had tables for the big donors to have dinner. Kirk and Melissa were doing the dinner part. Pedro, Meg, Bren, Jac and I all came just for the show. There was about 1500 people there. His concert started at 10pm, but we had to be there at 830. So, at this time I had already been up longer than I am usually up on any given day..lol.

All I have to say is AMAZING! His voice is EXACTLY like it sounds on records. The only downside was that he did talk quite a bit, but he was funny. He played until about midnight. All I know is that I would pay whatever to go and see him perform a regular live concert!

We had to dress up for the concert. Here are some pictures of us:

While taking this picture someone asked if we were Pedro's harem!!! LOL NOT SO MUCH!

Puerto Rico...

We had a short but fun trip to Puerto Rico this weekend for Pedro's cousin's wedding.

We arrived on Thursday afternoon and spent the day walking around Old San Juan. Then drove the hour and half to the town of San Sebastian where Pedro's extended family lives.

We stayed at his grandmas house. The house had no air conditioning, which made it quite hot during the day. But at night we slept with just a bed sheet and two fans going...but it did get kind of cool at night (or we got use to it). The shower also did not have hot water, instead it was cool. But since it was so hot it wasn't too bad.

Friday, we went to the beach where we rented kayaks for a while and then sat on the beach. Pedro got sunburned and I did not. Mainly because I believe in sunscreen and he thought he would not get burned. I tried to remind him that he hadn't been in the sun since last summer, but he didn't listen and he was burned. We left when a rain shower was approaching. We went out to dinner with his dad that night.

Saturday, was a LONG day. It started with the girls, Pedro's mom, sister, and brother's girlfriend and I getting our hair done. While Pedro helped his cousins bring the final stuff to the reception area. After that Pedro and I went to have my FAVORITE ice cream for the third time (lol) and a sandwich. Which I am glad we ate so close to the wedding time because they didn't serve the food until almost 800!

The wedding started at 200 and after the ceremony we went to the reception. They had this AMAZING band...they were great entertainers. They would be singing and you wouldn't realize half the group was gone and they would come in the door with a different outfit on and singing a different type of song...like one time they came in with mariachi clothes and sombreros on and started singing mexican style songs. It was a long night, we didn't get out until about 1100pm. But it was fun.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Here is a picture of the beach we were at "Crash Boat"
